Penfolds Koonunga Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
Description
Dark core, purple rim. The nose is varietally well defined, with a distinctive chocolate/mint note immediately to the fore. With a gentle swirl, generous dark fruits emerge. Fresh satsuma plum, mulberries and blackberries. The palate is firm, structured and very generous. Milk chocolate flavours lead the way, with a generous berry compote close behind. The tannins are silky, almost waxy or polished, creating a fine graphite like core.
Tasting Notes:
Color: Crimson with a ruby red brightness at the rim
Nose: Undoubtedly cabernet, there is no denying the DNA. Steely graphite, pomegranate liveliness and seared pepper crusted beef. Dried herbs aromatically circle around the varietal cabernet fruit.
Palate: White cherries and cranberry follow aromatic pomegranate, bringing an associated succulence that borders on austerity. Fine silky tannins, a steely core, graphite and ferric backbone provides shape. A solid framework for the fruit and tannins to hinge upon.
Alcohol: 14.5%
