Ardbeg Smoketrails Côte Rôtie Edition, the second of the series. Each edition in the Ardbeg Smoketrails collection, released in batches every year, is a marriage of Ardbeg matured in American oak casks and Ardbeg matured in secondary casks sourced from around the world.
The second release, Ardbeg Smoketrails Côte Rôtie Edition, marries whisky matured in bourbon barrels with whisky matured in Côte Rôtie red wine casks from the Rhône region of southern France.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: A spicy top note, reminiscent of grilled artichokes, peppers, and olive brine.
Taste: Subtle smoked cranberry and tar fly high above before the palate is treated to dark chocolate and soft fondant.
Finish: A fusion of saltiness, crispy bacon rinds, tar, and wood smoke, leaving a lasting impression.
