Mt Edward Muirkirk Pinot Noir 750ml

Muirkirk vineyard is situated on felton road in bannockburn on a gentle north west sloping corner. the soils are predominantly dense clay loam over gravels with seams of calcium carbonate running across the vineyard. farmed, under conversion, using bio gro certified organic practices. vinified in a traditional fashion using open fermenters, hand plunging, natural yeasts and 15 months in french oak. a soft and supple wine, lots of rich fruit with a good depth of flavour. lovely acidity and fine tannins give the wine great length and structure whilst also making it very approachable on release. no filtration or fining, deposits may form. winemaker: duncan forsyth. bottled july 2012.
