Description
Heaven's Door "Refuge" Straight Rye Whiskey is aged for six years, blended to ensure consistent maturity has been reached and then finished in Amontillado Sherry casks for no less than 6 months. Our Straight Rye Whiskey boasts a sweet, fruity character that is distinctively rich and refined with lively notes of dried fruits and a delicate, spicy finish.
Sherry, a drier aperitif, compliments our 100% rye mash with leather, nutmeg, and tobacco notes. The finishing is a delicate process as the rye has already aged over six years and reached the desired extraction of oak. Typically we finish our mature whiskey for 100 days, however, weather and seasons significantly influence the aging and extraction process, keeping our blenders on their toes and constantly curating our spirits.
